It does not require creating a cloud account to view remotely. The NVR can recognize cameras from other manufacturers not just from Amcrest. Home Assistant supports Amcrest integration for streaming videos and taking snapshots and motion detection. The included 2TB is good enough for 4 cams. Definitely swap for a bigger 6TB drive for 4+ cameras setup.
